If you are thinking of using a BIOS from MSI then you are taking a chance. It might work, but then it might not. You just do not know what modifications HP have made to the original BIOS and hardware. It is a case of do you feel lucky! IF you choose to do so, it is yours. Your motherboard can become un-usable just by flashing / updating, let alone any other changes. You may not be able to restore the BIOS to original. As long as you FULLY Understand those facts, here goes: The BIOS is model specific. There are similarities between models. Be sure the new BIOS has enough space to fit on the chip. The chip size may vary between models. All major chips should be identical. Variations will cause unexpected issues. Especially with the I/ O chips for storage / booting.
