I'm having the exact same problem. My HP wireless elite worked with my old laptop, plug and play, even if I didn't install any software. However, it won't connect with my new one. Plugging in the USB hub the computer says it loaded the driver fine, but no output from the keyboard at all. I've pressed and held the connect button on the keyboard multiple times. I loaded the software sucsessfully and it sees that the batteries are full. The device is shown in devices and printers and the status shows it's working fine. I tried the update the driver but it says the latest one is already installed. I went to the HP site and downloaded a new driver, anyway, but no luck. I've tried different batteries, as well. I've tried it on 3 different computers. Two have Windows 7 and one has Windows XP 64 bit. I also had another HPW Wireless Elite keyboard bought a few years ago but never opened. It is showing the exact same symptoms. I notice that the blue light on the usb hub only stays on for a few seconds when it's plugged in (both of them).
